Wawa and Freddy’s Are Coming to Carolina Shores

Wawa and Freddy’s are coming to Carolina Shores 🍔⛽

Site plans have been approved by the Brunswick County Planning Department for a Wawa and a Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers near Calabash Road and Highway 17 in Carolina Shores.

They’ll join the new Walmart, which opened Nov. 4, and the Publix next door, which opened about a week earlier — that corner is quickly becoming the area’s newest shopping hub.

Wawa has more than 1,100 stores, but the nearest one now is in Lumberton, about 90 miles away. The Carolina Shores store will be less than 30 miles from Myrtle Beach.

Freddy’s is still in the early stages, with construction slated for 2028. No opening dates have been announced for either one yet.
