Meet Randy
I was born and raised in Montana, then moved with my dad to Iowa for my high school years. After that came four years in the Marine Corps, which ended in California.
That’s where I got my start in the news business — in sales at the Los Angeles Times. One thing led to another, and I spent about 40 years in newspapers and broadcasting, ending up as a regional publisher for newspaper groups and television stations.
My wife and I have been married 44 years. We have three children and six grandchildren — including a son and granddaughter in the Charleston area. We settled in Calabash, and I can’t imagine being anywhere else.
Now that I’m retired, my goal is simple: share stories. No rigid geographic rules, no category rules — just the news, events, and people stories of coastal Carolina.
