Old Calabash Boat Becomes Artificial Reef Off Little River Coast

⚓ From eyesore to underwater ecosystem!

The old boat Miss Sandra Gail — abandoned and rotting in Calabash for over two years — is getting a second life. A team with the Hurricane Fleet has spent weeks salvaging and cleaning her up, and she’ll soon be sunk off the Little River coast to become an artificial reef.

She’s one of the first vessels picked to help restart South Carolina’s artificial reef program — good news for fishermen, divers, and the local economy. 🪸
