Veterans & Seniors Info Drop-In — Friday, Nov. 6 in Supply

To the veterans of Brunswick County — this one’s for you.

Tomorrow, Friday, November 6, from 10 AM to 3 PM, the BEMC Meeting Room in Supply (795 Ocean Highway) opens its doors for a free Veteran and Senior Information Fair — and if you served, or you love someone who did, it’s worth the trip.

This isn’t a ceremony or a speech. It’s a room full of people who can actually help: Brunswick County Veteran Services for VA benefits and claims, Honor Flight of the Cape Fear, Project Lifesaver, Brunswick Senior Resources, Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, the American Legion, the Elks, Canines for Vets, and more — all with booths, all there to answer your questions in person instead of over the phone.

And one moment worth being there for: Vietnam-era veterans who served between November 1955 and May 1975 will be presented with a 50th Commemoration Pin — a small thank-you, fifty years in the making.

For everyone else reading this: this is what taking care of our veterans looks like up close. If your dad, your neighbor, your friend served and has a question about benefits, health care, or any of these programs, tell them about tomorrow — or bring them with you. Family and friends are welcome, no appointment needed, and it’s free.

Organized by the Cape Fear Blue Star Mothers of America. Questions: Mary Jo Schnepf, 803-825-1640.
