Your weekend in the Brunswick Islands is STACKED

Two big ones to plan around:

🎡 The Brunswick County Agricultural Fair & Expo opens THURSDAY at 4 p.m. at Stump Hill Farms in Ash — rides, fair food, exhibits — and runs through Sunday. Tickets at the gate or ahead of time.

🍺 SATURDAY at 11 a.m., downtown Calabash hosts the 13th Annual Oktoberfest — Oktoberfest beer, Bavarian food, a vendor market, and the beer stein holding contest.

And there’s more Saturday:

  • Leland Fall Festival, 3 p.m. at Founders Park — trick-or-treating, pumpkin painting, face painting, yard games (come in costume)
  • Festival by the Sea kicks off in Holden Beach — live music all day, 100+ vendor stalls, kids zone; day two runs Sunday 9–4
  • Oak Island’s Live & Local: Music + Market meets National Night Out/Spooktacular — market at 4 p.m., The Cruise Brothers at 6, costume contest, first responder displays

And up in North Myrtle Beach: the Grand Strand Kite Festival flies Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m.–4 p.m., at The Point in Cherry Grove — free. It’s a Halloween double-header too: BooFest at Barefoot Landing and the city’s $5 BOOnanza both land Saturday, with trick-or-treating at Barefoot Landing on Halloween night.

Friday night in Ocean Isle Beach: the town’s Hallo-Screen Movie Night shows “Monster House” after sunset at Town Center Park — and the District 31 Haunted Trail runs every Friday and Saturday night through Halloween.
