Starting today, Brunswick County is making its annual switch from chloramines to free chlorine as the primary water disinfectant — and flushing more than 1,440 miles of water mains through November.
What to expect: a slight change in the taste or smell of your water. That’s normal during the switch.
A few tips: run your tap briefly if the water tastes off. And if you have an aquarium, a pond, or use water for dialysis, take the proper precautions with treated water.
