Sea Haven Duck Derby

πŸ¦† Saturday in North Myrtle Beach, a few hundred rubber ducks are going to race down the Intracoastal Waterway β€” and it’s for a great cause. It’s the Sea Haven Duck Derby at Captain Archie’s, 2200 Little River Neck Road in Cherry Grove. Adopt a duck for $5, and your numbered duck goes into the water with the rest of the flock. The first three ducks across the finish line win cash prizes for their adopters. Every dollar beyond the prizes goes to Sea Haven, the North Myrtle Beach nonprofit that has run Horry County’s only emergency shelter for runaway and homeless teenagers since 1980 β€” a bed, a meal, clean clothes, counseling, and a case manager for kids ages 13 to 17 who have nowhere else to go. Get there early for a spot on the deck β€” it fills fast on derby day β€” and check Sea Haven’s social media for the race release time.
