🏛️ Heads up if you follow Brunswick County government — tomorrow is a two-meeting day in Bolivia.
The Board of Commissioners holds a SPECIAL meeting at 2 PM for a presentation on future expansion planning for Brunswick County Public Utilities. That’s the system that serves most of the beach towns, and expansion planning is where rate decisions start — worth watching.
Then at 6 PM, the regular meeting, and the public-hearing list is stacked:
• A rezoning request (Z-945) off US 17 near Sunset Beach
• The first public hearing on the county’s development-ordinance rewrite tied to House Bill 1222 — the new law shifting big development approvals from the Planning Board to the elected commissioners
• The 2027 countywide reappraisal’s schedule of values — the formula your next property valuation is based on
• Hydrant bulk water rate revisions taking effect Jan. 1
• Updates to the Water Shortage Response Plan
Also on the agenda: a grant to add two more traffic-unit deputies at the Sheriff’s Office, and a closed session on property acquisition.
Both meetings are at the David R. Sandifer Administration Building, 30 Government Center Drive, Bolivia. Public is welcome in person, or watch the livestream on the county’s agendas and minutes portal.
