Update: Shallotte Wildfire Evacuation Lifted — Fire Estimated at ~50 Acres

🚨 UPDATE: Good news on the Quarry Fire Two front — the evacuation order for Lakewood Estates has been LIFTED. Residents can return home.

The county’s 9:00 PM update says the fire is estimated at about 50 acres near Bricklanding Road and Old Georgetown Road, with the NC Forest Service plowing fire lines. No official containment figure yet. Heavy smoke in the area, but no injuries or structural damage reported.

If you’re heading back, still use caution — and thank the crews working the lines tonight.
